Ward Police Stations in Nha Trang for Temporary Residence: Addresses and Phone Numbers
Where to go in Nha Trang for a temporary residence confirmation (xác nhận tạm trú) after the 2025 ward mergers: the four ward police offices, which old ward belongs to which, and who has to register your stay.
Since 1 July 2025, Nha Trang is no longer a city with 22 wards and communes. The whole former city area is now just four wards of Khanh Hoa province: Nha Trang, Bac Nha Trang, Tay Nha Trang and Nam Nha Trang. Each has its own ward police (Công an phường), and that is where temporary residence for foreigners is handled.
Short answer: your hotel or landlord registers your stay with the ward police within 12 hours of your arrival. If you need a written confirmation, go to the administrative procedures office of the ward where you live, with your passport and rental contract. Addresses and phone numbers are below.
The four ward police offices in Nha Trang
Each ward lists separate offices for its main headquarters, for administrative procedures (where residence paperwork is handled) and for reporting crimes. For temporary residence, go to the administrative procedures office.

Who registers a foreigner's temporary residence?
Not you. Vietnamese law makes the host responsible: the person who manages the place where you sleep, whether that is a hotel, a homestay, a serviced apartment or a private house. They must declare your stay with the ward police within 12 hours of your arrival, using your passport details.
- Hotels and homestays do it automatically when you check in. That is why they ask for your passport.
- Landlords of apartments and houses must do it too. If you rent long term, ask your landlord to confirm they have declared you, especially when you move in or come back from a trip abroad.
- Since 21 May 2026, hosts declare online on the Ministry of Public Security’s unified system, tbltkbtt.bocongan.gov.vn, or the TBLT KBTT app. The older provincial websites are no longer used.
After a visa run, you need a new declaration. Leaving Vietnam and coming back is a new entry with a new visa. When you return to Nha Trang, your host must declare you again with the new entry details.
Getting a temporary residence confirmation
A written confirmation of your temporary residence (xác nhận tạm trú) is often asked for when you apply for a temporary residence card, a work permit, some bank services or vehicle paperwork. The ward police that received your host’s declaration is the office that can confirm it.
- Check that you were declared. Ask your host to confirm that your current stay, with your current visa, has been declared.
- Call the ward’s administrative procedures office (numbers above) and ask what they need for your case.
- Go in person with your passport, your current visa or entry stamp, your rental contract or booking, and preferably your landlord with their ID card. A Vietnamese-speaking friend helps.
Each office can ask for slightly different documents, and they decide whether to issue a confirmation. Treat the list above as a starting point, not a guarantee.
Visas and temporary residence cards are handled elsewhere
The ward police deal with where you live. Visa extensions, temporary residence cards and other immigration paperwork go through the immigration service of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Police. Since July 2025 the provincial police receive these applications at the public administrative services centre at 2 Le Thanh Ton Street, Nha Trang Ward, the former Nha Trang City Police building.

Questions
Who has to register my temporary residence in Nha Trang?
Your host does. Under Vietnam's law on the residence of foreigners, the person who runs the place where you stay, such as the hotel, homestay, landlord or the owner of a private house, declares your stay with the ward police within 12 hours of your arrival. You give them your passport. Since 21 May 2026 hosts declare online on the Ministry of Public Security's unified system, tbltkbtt.bocongan.gov.vn, or its TBLT KBTT app.
Which police station do I go to for a temporary residence confirmation?
The police of the ward where your accommodation is. Nha Trang now has four wards: Nha Trang, Bac Nha Trang, Tay Nha Trang and Nam Nha Trang. Use the table on this page to find yours from your old ward name, then go to that ward's administrative procedures office.
My address still says Loc Tho or Vinh Hai ward. Which ward is that now?
Since 1 July 2025 the old wards and communes of Nha Trang have been grouped into four wards. Loc Tho is now part of Nha Trang Ward, and Vinh Hai is part of Bac Nha Trang Ward. The full list is in the table above.
What should I bring to the ward police?
Bring your passport with your current visa or entry stamp, your rental contract or hotel booking, and ideally your host or landlord, with their ID card. Requirements can differ between offices, so call the ward's administrative procedures number first and ask what they need for your case.
Do I need a temporary residence confirmation for a visa run?
No. A visa run only needs a valid passport and the right visas. A temporary residence confirmation is usually asked for when you apply for something in Vietnam, such as a temporary residence card, a work permit or some bank and vehicle paperwork.
